THE GOLD OF DREAMS: ANDRÉS PAREDES AT THE MACRO TOWER

Andrés Paredes was summoned by Banco Macro in 2018 to intervene the facilities of what would later become the workspaces of the bank's employees.

Each of the building's floors has panels specially designed and fretworked by the artist. This exhibition also provides an opportunity to connect Paredes' artistic interventions in the Tower with his current production.

That is why the artist was selected to inaugurate the Macro Federal program, an initiative that promotes and disseminates the work of artists from different provinces of Argentina. Paredes' production reveals a considerable diversity of resources and artistic operations that revolve around nature and transformation as a central axis, the rereading of the Atlantic Forest landscape where the artist was born and grew up.

The artist chooses insects that undergo great transformations such as butterflies, cicadas and dragonflies, establishing in them the great metaphor of the change to which every human being aspires. In addition, he proposes a poetic approach to a collective experience typical of the area, the condition of migrants.

Andrés Paredes was born in the city of Apóstoles, Misiones in 1979. He is a visual artist and graphic designer, graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Misiones -UNAM-. In the last years, the artist from Misiones participated in several interventions and exhibitions throughout Argentina, as well as in cities of Latin America, the United States and Spain.

The work of Andrés Paredes will be exhibited until Friday, September 27 at Torre Macro, Eduardo Madero 1172 - CABA, and those interested in visiting it may do so from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, with free admission. At the same time, group guided tours for schools and/or institutions may be requested.
