Through an open call, two artists will be selected for a six-week residency at Casa Wabi (Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico) for two artists from Argentina (living in or outside the country).

The residency will take place from September 23 to October 28, 2024. Applications –which include a CV, portfolio, statement and a proposal for a community project– must be submitted via an online form. Deadline to apply: May 2, 2024.

The Casa Wabi Residency includes private housing, studio space, meals and round-trip airfare to Puerto Escondido. Each Casa Wabi resident must develop and direct a community project as part of their residency. The Ama Amoedo Foundation covers airfare to and from Mexico City and medical insurance.

Casa Wabi is located on the Pacific coast, 20 minutes from the airport in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Located between the mountains and the sea, the main building was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando and based on an initiative developed by Mexican artist Bosco Sodi. The facilities include a multi-purpose room, six independent bedrooms, two closed and six open studios, a 450 m2 exhibition space and various work areas that together create the ideal environment for recharging energies among other artists.

The Ama Amoedo Foundation celebrates this partnership with the Casa Wabi Foundation as part of its FAARA Conecta program, which aims to expand connectivity networks and stimulate production in different cultural contexts.
