ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM. THE EXHIBITION OF FERNANDO CARABAJAL
Elephant in the Room is Fernando Carabajal's solo exhibition at Espacio Unión, Mexico City.

Curator Vlad Knormenko wrote the following text for the exhibition: “According to Carabajal, the elephant symbolizes the link between writing and the visual in his work, representing an epiphany that defines the undefinable. In contrast, black metal music signifies the noisy and blasphemous. For the artist, these two dimensions exist in correlation and balance within his creative space.
The elephant encapsulates visual archetypes and deep memory, guiding Carabajal's drawings into the realm of the ineffable. The dissonant music provides a surface and dimensional counterpoint, where contrasting energies meet and interact. This nexus of elephants and black metal represents the singular space and time the artist inhabits, containing the full spectrum of his vision.
When Carabajal draws, he calls upon this elephant guide to awaken intuitive meaning, while channeling the cacophony of metal into discursive structures. They both flow in symbiosis, connecting rational and irrational, conscious and unconscious. For Carabajal, the dialogue between elephants and music unlocks his creative power to manifest images between worlds, giving shape to cosmic truths”.
