ANTICOVID-19: FIRST LARGE FORMAT PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION IN PERU
Terapia Fotográfica (Photographic Therapy), a Latin American photography community created in the wake of the pandemic, presents an urban gallery with photography on the facade of the Víctor Larco Herrera Hospital, in the Magdalena del Mar district. Curated by Sophia Durand, the exhibition evokes the viewers and makes of them the protagonists "with a look that welcomes and cures with art the symptoms of a pandemic society."
Since its creation, the main mission of Terapia Fotográfica is to bring a parallel alternative of visual education to Peruvian and Latin American photography students who have stopped studying due to economic issues since COVID-19.
The knowledge exchange, horizontal growth and the constant intellectual development around photography and its ecosystem make Terapia Fotográfica a very important weekly broadcast space for many of its members. It is a live broadcast platform with national and international guests. In addition, Room Meetings are held, a space for the review of photographic projects of community members. Finally, every end of the month a Photography Workshop is held, led by a guest.
The communication structure of the community counts with two large channels with more than 400 members from 14 countries around the world, including Peruvians living in Peru and Peruvian migrants living outside the country.
