ARCOmadrid 2012
Open call for the Solo Projects: Focus Latinoamérica
After its renovation with the 30th edition, held last February, ARCOmadrid launches a new call for their “Solo Projects: Focus Latinoamérica” programme, in its second edition, that will be presented in the next exhibition, from 15 to 19 February 2012.
This section will be, as never before, a space for research and discovery of artists, and will have an outstanding team of six curators: Cauê Alves (Brazil), Sonia Becce (Argentina), Patrick Charpenel (Mexico), Alexia Dumani (Costa Rica), Manuela Moscoso (Colombia) and José Ignacio Roca (Colombia) that will act as radars for the actual Latin American scene.
Those galleries willing to present a Latin American artist’s individual project may submit it before 30 September 2011. The curator`s team, with support of a committee member, will select the most attractive projects, for exhibition during ARCOMadrid 2012. The final selection will be ratified by the Organising Committee, during its session on 25 October.
The Latin American presence in ARCOMadrid 2012 will be reinforced by the European and Latin American Institutions Encounter (Encuentro de Instituciones Europeas y Latinoamericanas) lead by Agustín Pérez Rubio (director of MUSAC) and one invited director from a Latin American institution that will be held on the fair opening day.
