ART@WORK PRESENTS “THE FACEBOOK WORK” BY CUBAN ARTIST ARTURO CUENCA

THE FACEBOOK WORK will highlight Arturo Cuenca’s experimentation during the last three years with the Facebook platform. The artist dwells into political and societal contemporary issues in the social media global medium. Cultural manifestations and investigations have been present throughout the artist’s career. Cuenca’s philosophical and ideological position breaks with artistic tradition producing an aesthetic questioning human ethics. The Facebook platform allows him to explore and generate new artworks with his signature intellectual play with words, with posts of his thought provoking and keen insight on contemporary human condition and politics.
Arturo Cuenca was born in Holguín, Cuba and currently lives and works in Miami. He studied at the San Leandro Academy of Fine Arts and at the Superior Institute of Art in Havana.
