Art x Food / Food for Haiti
In a humble gesture of solidarity, a group of artists will donate their works to be exchanged for food and sent to the suffering people of Haiti. In this equation, the real value of food can replace the symbolic value of money, erasing the differences between Art and Life, while an artwork can make the difference between life and death for a citizen of Haiti.
Each work on display will have a retail value that its potential collector may pay with an amount of nonperishable food equivalent of that sum. Food can be purchased at any store or supermarket, and must be presented along to its sales receipt.
Among the participating artists are Abel Quintero, Alejandra Goldberg, Ana María Sarlat, Arturo Cuenca, Carlos Masis, Casimiro González, Cedey de Jesús, Cristian Ortiz, Cundo Bermúdez (cortesía de Cundo Bermúdez Museum & Gallery Inc.), Deborah Nofret, Edgar Gutiérrez, Edin Gutiérrez, Ernesto Capdevila, Héctor Cata, Humberto Castro, Ignacio Pérez Vázquez, Joaquín González, Joel Núñez, José Castro, Laura Luna, Marc Andries Smit, Mariano Costa Peuser, Martín Carbajal, Natasha Perdomo, Noel Santiesteban, Odalis Valdivieso, Pedro Ávila, Rafael Consuegra, Rafael López-Ramos, Rosa Naday Garmendia, Sergio Lastres, Vicente Dopico-Lerner, Yovani Bauta
