ArteBA Focus: a weekend in the south
During November 12 and 13, a great call came to the neighborhood of La Boca, attracted by the proposal arteBA Foundation organized in collaboration with the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
ArteBA Focus / Arts District was deployed in and out of a complex of industrial sheds integrating the presence of cement, brick and pavement to the contemporary art experience. A circuit of parallel activities in institutions, galleries and public spaces accompanied the tour of this weekend.
The curators Mariana Rodríguez Iglesias and Florencia Battiti were in charge of the selection of works of 80 artists and 30 galleries and they were the creators of an unpublished proposal that managed to harmonically alternate the emerging with the consecrated, the young with the interactive and the performance with what audiovisual. Each gallery participated with proposals that included from 1 to 3 artists and some of them collaborated with pieces of video selected by Karina Granieri for the microcines and the room of videoinstalaciones.
For the architectural design Ariel Jacuvobich was summoned, who took on the challenge of making the fair a meeting and exchange space and adapting the exhibition layout according to the needs of each space, inspired by the packaging of work as organizing figure for the different Display stands and rest.
This event was not limited to exploring the visual plasticity of contemporary visual arts: the audience could also enjoy the sunset with the DJ Set Fade cycle curated by Daniel Ojeda and Radio Blue, which was broadcast live from the entry hall.
