Bogotá, Colombia-. Established by the Montblanc Cultural Foundation in 1992, the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award recognizes every year outstanding achievements by contemporary personalities who tirelessly and selflessly work away from the spotlight and public eye for the prosperity of art and culture in 16 countries. Over the years the Montblanc Cultural Foundation has donated more than 4 million dollars for the support of art projects.
The 25-year-old foundation recently appointed two new directors, Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, who travelled from Munich to attend the event. This duo of independent curators and co-founders of Art Reoriented represent the Montblanc Cultural Foundation at the international level and determine and lead the direction of its cultural programs.
A local jury and an international jury are entrusted with selecting the winner of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award. This year, the jury was formed by José Roca, Maria José Arjona, and Simon Brand. In an official statement Montblanc said, "It is because of her tireless support of, and lifelong commitment to, social responsibility that the jury of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation has decided to grant the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award to Claudia Hakim.
