FLORA inaugurates 'Metrocuadrado' an exhibition by Natalia Gutiérrez
The artist Natalia Gutiérrez inaugurates 'Metrocuadrado' in FLORA, an exhibition that deals with the changes manifested in the facades of the San Felipe neighborhood of Bogotá, Colombia.
In recent years, San Felipe has gone through a series of changes that have generated new dynamics in the neighborhood. Being originally a residential area, today it is identified as the new art district in Bogotá, Colombia. In this process, many of the houses were sold, remodeled or demolished to build new buildings. However, the changes have not occurred only from the artistic sphere. Also, residences that still retain their original fronts have acquired different uses, far from domestic life, becoming warehouses, warehouses, industrial kitchens, laboratories, etc.
The proposal of Natalia Gutiérrez addresses these changes manifested from the residential facades and, through activities that will be carried out with the residents of the neighborhood, will seek to deepen the history and future of San Felipe.
Duration of the exhibition: from Thursday, May 24 to Thursday, July 12, 2018
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday from 2:00 p.m. at 6:00 p.m.
