First lecture in De la Cruz Contemporary Art Space
De la Cruz Contemporary Art Space will inaugurate in Miami the lectures series about its collection this Thursday February 4, with a compelling event: Among Friends. An informal conversation between friends.
Peter Menendez, Cesar Trasobares, Craig Robins and Rosa de la Cruz will talk about their friendship with three iconic artists that were linked to Miami during decisive times in their lifes: Ana Mendieta, Félix González-Torres y Carlos Alfonzo.
As cultural activists, these collectors and artists that maintained a friendship, will demonstrate a different perspective on their biographical stories and work, sharing memories, anecdotes and personal insights, which in the end, are of equal importance to the history of art, like the academic reflections.
Among Friends brings art and life closer, an intention each time more important in the recuperation of the “stories” that are part of an essential memory, for the process of understanding contemporary art.
