Juan Batlle Planas: the Surrealist Cabinet at the Cuenca Museum
Next Thursday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. opens the exhibition 'The Surrealist Cabinet' by the Argentine artist Juan Batlle Planas in Cuenca, the Spanish abstract art museum.
The Juan March Foundation, in its Cuenca Museum, dedicates the second exhibition of the AL / Artists of Latin America series to Juan Batlle Planas (Torroella de Montgrí, Gerona, Spain, 1911-Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1966), key figure of the Argentine avant-garde of the thirties, but unknown in our country.
THE SAME THURSDAY, MAY 24, between 12:00 and 14:00 h., Manuel Fontán del Junco, Director of Museums and Exhibitions of the Juan March Foundation, and Pedro Azara, curator of the exhibition, will attend the media. In addition, at 1:00 pm, a guided tour will be offered to the media that are in the Museum.
This exhibition presents a selection of almost fifty works, in addition to a varied documentation that includes studies, magazines, books and illustrated notebooks, photographs and letters, etc., of the Batlle Planas artist, poet, illustrator, collector and, above all , of the creator of worlds full of dreams and realities parallel to everyday.
