Performance by Galia Eibenschutz activates Rita McBride´s piece “Arena” at the Museo Tamayo in Mexico

This performance is a collective of kinetic sketches of Rita McBride’s exposition “Public Transaction”. The idea is to reactivate the different spaces proposed by the artist though trajectories and sequences of movement, using the body as a reference point, and as an element that defines the parameters of scale, the organic, functionality, and transit.

The performers’ inspiration comes from drawings and models by Le Corbusier, and the idea of inhabiting a strange world within another world. A performance piece inside a sculpture exposition, within a museum wing, based on a house. A house within a museum.

The memory of a domestic archeologist will be translated to a public space. The drawing will function as an element that transcribes what is happening, it will be a graphic mark that will extract the essential from actions and reflections, but that will also function as a measuring and registering system of the range of movement of the performance’s artists.
