“Pop Up” gallery gathers together six Peruvian artists in Switzerland, in the exhibition _Universos paralelos (Parallel Universes)_
Nest Gallery in Geneva, Switzerland, provides the setting for the exhibition Universos paralelos (Parallel Universes), which gathers together six Peruvian artists under the curatorship of Caroline Briceño.
The participating artists are Jorge Cabieses, Nicole Franchy, Hans Stoll, Mariella Agois, Pier Stockholm and Luisanna González. Briceño’s curatorial proposal builds parallels between the imaginary worlds of each of these artists.
“Every artist is a personal universe, a universe of very particular ideas, aesthetics and techniques which are in harmony with the ideals, beliefs and sources of inspiration of each of them. These microcosms of ideas originate in a parallel way in the context of a similar situation or a similar moment in time,” Briceño comments.
The intention behind this exhibition is to present in a collective space the personal universes of these artists which, although very different from an aesthetic point of view, intrinsically contain elements which relate them.
Thus, González’s ethereal and existential worlds, Franchy’s ironic and ludic compositions, and Stockholm’s purgatories, as well as the exploration of geometric forms in Cabieses’s manipulated Gobelin tapestries and Agois’s sinsecuentes are inevitably linked to the geometric re-invention of architectures and interiors in Stoll’s digital compositions in search of new realities.
The show will be open to the public until Sunday, Mat 19, 2013.
