LETICIA RAMOS & ZEN MARIE IN A COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
Dim Corners is an evocative exhibition in Johannesburg featuring new works by Brazilian artist Leticia Ramos and South African artist Zen Marie. The exhibition takes into account the city’s frequent energy shortages, and also the recent blackouts that São Paulo had experienced since this project started, weaving a narrative that intertwines the immediate physical impact with the broader, insidious issues of climate change and environmental racism.
COLLECTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT MoMA
MoMA’s collective exhibition New Photography 2023: Kelani Abass, Akinbode Akinbiyi, Yagazie Emezi, Amanda Iheme, Abraham Oghobase, Karl Ohiri, Logo Oluwamuyiwa explores the photographic work of seven artists, all at various stages in their careers.
BLACK STAR – GHANA PAVILION AT THE VENICE BIENNALE
Following its highly acclaimed debut at the 2019 Biennale, Ghana will present the exhibition Black Star—The Museum as Freedom for the Ghana Pavilion at the 59th International Art Exhibition—la Biennale di Venezia in 2022. With the patronage of Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and curatorship by Nana Oforiatta Ayim, the featured artists are Na Chainkua Reindorf, Afroscope and Diego Araúja.
