VISUAL CONFLUENCES - NEXT | Out of Focus AT PINTA BAphoto

Pinta BAphoto celebrates its twentieth edition at La Rural, consolidating itself as one of the most important fairs dedicated to photography in Latin America. This annual event brings together galleries, artists and collectors, and throughout its two decades, it has been an essential platform for the development and dissemination of photographic art, both locally and internationally.

VISUAL CONFLUENCES - NEXT | Out of Focus AT PINTA BAphoto

In this anniversary edition, the fair continues to explore the vast and dynamic universe of contemporary photography, connecting art with memory, the archive and the aesthetic possibilities of the present.

In this context, the NEXT | Fuera de Foco section, curated by Bárbara Golubicki and Joaquín Rodríguez, celebrates its tenth edition by expanding its space and the number of participating projects. Under the concept of “confluence”, this section invites to reflect on the intertwining of traditional and experimental techniques, and how they dialogue with historical and contemporary themes. Photography is presented here as an experimental medium, oscillating between intimate recording and social reflection, offering new ways of exploring the relationship between memory, reality and the visual archive.

A distinctive feature of NEXT | Fuera de Foco is its commitment to give visibility to emerging projects and promote dialogue between different generations of artists and audiences. This year, in addition, the section has the support of the In Situ Award, which reinforces its support to national photographic production through an economic incentive for the winners. In alliance with Pinta BAphoto, this award grants a scholarship for a gallery or collective to participate free of charge, underscoring the fair's commitment to the emerging art scene.

The federal focus of the fair is another of the fundamental pillars of NEXT | Fuera de Foco, which includes the participation of galleries from various Argentine provinces. Spaces such as Consultorio (San Miguel de Tucumán), CRUDO (Rosario), and ESAA (Unquillo), among others, present the work of artists that reflect the diversity and richness of photography in the country. This heterogeneity makes it possible to glimpse a broad panorama of Argentine photographic art, where multiple visions and ways of approaching the medium are intertwined.
