Sections and Special Projects

Pinta BAphoto's Main Section highlights galleries with proposals focused on photography. NEXT | Fuera de Foco, which celebrates its tenth anniversary, presents emerging artists and promotes intergenerational links, under the curatorship of Bárbara Golubicki and Joaquín Rodríguez. As a new feature, RADAR, curated by Sebastián Vidal Mackinson, will be inaugurated, a platform to showcase middle-aged national artists who explore the photographic language.

The Tribute Artist of this edition is Jaime Bolotinksy, a Russian photographer in Argentina, with a space curated by Francisco Medail. Irene Gelfman, Pinta's global curator, is in charge of Video Project and Special Project. The Video Project section, in its eighth edition, focuses on the moving image, with the central theme of “territory”. On the other hand, Cecilia Lenardón's Special Project presents Cuatro Piezas Clave (Four Key Pieces), an installation that challenges the limits of photography.

FORO's agenda

FORO presents a series of talks on the issues and aesthetics of contemporary and modern photography. It brings together artists, curators, gallery owners and market specialists to approach photography in a multidisciplinary way. See the complete agenda.

Within this context, there will be a tribute to the trajectory and the presentation of awards to the art producer Luz Castillo and the artists Aldo Sessa and Pedro Roth.

Not to miss

As it is characteristic of the fair, Ediciones Larivière and La Paragráfica will offer a unique selection of books and photobooks. At the same time, Photo Zine -coordinated by Agustina Larrondo and Daniel L. Ventura- brings together different independent publishing projects of photography and graphic arts that investigate and publish on different printing techniques and materiality.

On the other hand, Proyecto CALLE, a collective of artists who work through images, joins the exhibition. These are works by people who are in a situation of extreme vulnerability and inhabit the streets of Buenos Aires and Homes, expressing themselves through photography taken with disposable cameras and cell phones.
