PAMEN PEREIRA: SPACE, ORDER AND ELEMENTS, AT ARTIZAR

By Álvaro de Benito

Pamen Pereira (Ferrol, Spain, 1963) unfolds her project Don't give up at Artizar gallery in Tenerife, a show made up of fourteen pieces that make up a total, but that must be seen from the prism of combination and language. However, the artist advocates for observing what is hidden behind the relationship of her works, the selection and the dialogue that the tour offers us.

PAMEN PEREIRA: SPACE, ORDER AND ELEMENTS, AT ARTIZAR

To this end, the production she presents in Don't give up is made up of elements from different periods of her career that converse in the gallery space, another of the relevant keys in the viewer's perception. His proposal navigates between the most conventional pictorial techniques, drawing and sculpture, photography and video art, but also delves into the striking possibilities of the installation, the central axis of the attention that the viewer places on the visit and which also condenses part of the concept of nature and the elements with the use of fire and natural materials and textiles.

Pereira, in addition, alludes to the vital importance of the stage, moving away from the trends in which the exhibition area seems more constraining, and sticking to it as another element of the personality and result of his work. Part of this direction lies in her history of working with art in public spaces or specific creation, and here she returns to the more traditional exhibition space of the gallery.

Don't give up can be seen until October 19 at Artizar, San Agustín, 63, La Laguna (Spain).
