SER PALLAY: THE COLLABORATIVE TEXTILE PROJECT
Ser Pallay is a textile project that revolves around the creation of kunan pallaykuna (contemporary Andean textile iconography) and is the result of a collaboration between textile artists María José Murillo and Verovcha.

MOTHERS PLANTS AND WOMEN FIGHTERS. VISIONS FROM CANTAGALLO
This exhibition at MAC Lima is the result of an invitation to Olinda Silvano [Reshinjabe] and the women's collective Non Shinanbo (Our Inspirations) to rethink and represent the last two years of health, social and political crisis from their concerns, urgencies and desires.

RETORNO SOLAR. THE MAC LIMA ART AND INNOVATION AWARD 2022
The project Retorno Solar (Solar Return) by Luis Enrique Zela-Koort, winner of the MAC Lima Art and Innovation Award 2022, proposes to return to the Sun as the representation of all that exists and has existed, witness and creative agent of the facts of the history of the Earth and of the fragment that, in this case, represents the history of humanity.

EL NUDO VERTICAL BY JORGE EDUARDO EIELSON
The exhibition El nudo vertical, at Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, is dedicated to the artist Jorge Eduardo Eielson and offers the opportunity to examine his artistic production from the late 1950s to his latest works.

THE MAC LIMA INAUGURATES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS LED BY MEG DE ROMAÑA
The new Board of Directors of the MAC Lima was unanimously elected for the period 2022-2025, comprised of Meg de Romaña, president; Eduardo Hochschild Beeck, vice president; Manuel Ugarte Maggiolo, secretary; Carlos Heeren Ramos, treasurer; and Luis Pérez-Oramas, Ximena Vega Amat y Leon and Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães, members.

CECILIA VICUÑA IN GUGGENHEIM NEW YORK
Cecilia Vicuña: Spin Spin Triangulene is the first solo exhibition in a New York museum for the pioneering contemporary Chilean artist, poet, activist, and filmmaker Cecilia Vicuña (b. 1948, Santiago). Showcasing Vicuña’s artistic production from the late 1960s to today, this exhibition will feature the breadth of her multidisciplinary practice, including paintings, works on paper, textiles, films, a site-specific Quipu (Knot) installation, a one-time performance of a “living” Quipu, and new paintings and works on paper created specifically for this presentation.

EL ORDEN DE LOS FACTORES. SANDRA GAMARRA HESHIKI
Through painting, Sandra Gamarra Heshiki (Lima, Peru, 1972) questions the representation mechanisms of the art system and the museum as an ideological device. He resorts to copying to make available certain cultural artifacts that have been extracted from their contexts within the framework of the modern-colonial regime. The artist adopts a syncretic gaze where pre-Columbian, colonial, modern and contemporary material productions come into friction.

FLEISCH, THE NEW SPACE FOR CONTEMPORARY ART IN ALCOBENDAS, MADRID.
In Alcobendas a new art gallery was inaugurated. This is Fleisch, a space dedicated to architecture, art and gastronomy. In an industrial warehouse renovated by Kurhaus Studio, the Spanish architect Nicolás Sfeir and the curators from Peru and Argentina Carlos García-Montero and Manuela Barreiro are carrying out an international project that proposes exhibitions with bold montages. This is Huacas: architectural synthesis by the Peruvian artist Yerko Zlatar, the exhibition that inaugurates its official program, which can be visited by appointment until the end of September.

JAN MULDER COLLECTION EXHIBITS ‘MARTÍN CHAMBI AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES’
The Jan Mulder Collection, in collaboration with the Foto Colectania Foundation in Barcelona, presents for the first time in Europe "Martín Chambi and his Contemporaries. The Andes Photographed", an exhibition with original photographs by Martín Chambi and 15 other Peruvian and foreign photographers who have traveled through the southern Peruvian Andes during the period of Chambi's activity.

PLASTIC PRINTS IN ‘OCÉANOS’ – PENUMBRA FOUNDATION
The New York based photography foundation Penumbra exhibits OCÉANOS by Roberto Huarcaya (Lima, Perú, 1959) until July 22nd. The show presents the first-ever exhibition of this Peruvian artist’ large-scale photograms of the Pacific Ocean. In what could be described as a "photogrammatic performance," Huarcaya immerses himself into the waters of the sea to record its virulent nature and traces of contamination.

LAST DAYS! SANDRA GAMARRA AT THE SPANISH MUSEUM CGAC
CGAC -Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea- exhibits Buen Gobierno (Good Government) by Peruvian artista Sandra Gamarra Heshiki.

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND 'VEROÍR EL FRACASO ILUMINADO' - INTERVIEW WITH MIGUEL A. LÓPEZ

ART, A HARD BONE TO CHEW
Regarding Artist in Residence, an exhibition by Fernando “Coco” Bedoya (Borja, 1952), at the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. Curated by Max Hernández Calvo, the exhibition is open until June 4, 2022.

EFG LATIN AMERICA ART AWARD NOMINATION AT PINTA PArC
The EFG Latin America Art Award, in partnership with ArtNexus, announced Ximena Garrido-Lecca, from the gallery 80m2 Livia Benavides, Lima, as the artist nominated for its annual acquisition award. The work was selected at the Pinta PArC fair with the collaboration of Magali Arriola, art critic and independent curator, jointly with Celia Sredni de Birbragher, Director and Editor of ArtNexus.

MEDIA POINT IN PINTA PArC – LIVE TALKS, VIDEOS AND MORE
With the curatorship of Verónica Santalla and the collaboration of Miguel López, this meeting space is proposed in a hybrid format, combining in-person talks at the Pinta PArC auditorium and audiovisual content.

NEXT STANDS OUT AT PINTA PArC FOR ITS CREATIVE LANDSCAPE
Curated by Florencia Portocarrero, the NEXT section brings together seven galleries that are committed to visibilizing the work of young and/or emerging artists. The section seeks to function as a window, for the public of the fair, to the various cities of Latin America in which the gallery projects are registered; such as Buenos Aires, Cusco, Lima, Cholula, Rosario, Quito and Santiago.

PINTA PArC EXHIBITS RUNAWAY NARRATIVES – ONLY PROJECTS
The SOLO PROJECTS section exhibits six artists represented by their respective galleries. The section is intended as an opportunity to highlight the production of contemporary artists in such a way that visitors can relate to their work in a deeper and more personal way.

CONTEMPORARY TRADITION - TEXTILE ART AT PINTA PARC 2022
As a novelty, this year Pinta PArC presents a new space with a leading role marked by the textile art of Tiodoro Pacco. Institutionally and with the curatorship of Jerson Ramirez, the aim is to recover, highlight and celebrate the traditional techniques and artistic work of the region. The space is thus dedicated to the exploration of memory, the transmission of cultural valuesand the examination of the processes and formats that are interwoven in the Peruvian artistic identity.

PERU AT THE VENICE BIENNALE – “PEACE IS A CORROSIVE PROMISE” BY HERBERT RODRÍGUEZ
Herbert Rodríguez (Lima, 1959), artist from Herlitzka + Faria, will participate in the 59 International Art Exhibition in the Venice Biennale: The Milk of Dreams. The exhibition at the Peruvian pavilion La paz es una promesa corrosiva (Peace is a corrosive promise) gathers 30 works and a projection of handcrafted slides. Among the works, there will be pieces of agit-prop (a mixture of photomontage, collage, stencil, silkscreen, and painting) and his mural newspapers Arte – Vida (Art – Life) made in 1989.

LIMA - “DENYING THE DESERT” AT THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Negar el desierto (Denying the Desert) is a group exhibition that affirms the persistence of the coastal landscape in the imagination of the artists who inhabit or visit it. The desert is a full space, abundant in historical, emotional and political density.

SHARON LERNER APPOINTED NEW DIRECTOR AT THE MUSEUM OF ART LIMA
The Museo de Arte de Lima -MALI, announces that its most recent General Assembly of Associates appointed Sharon Lerner as the Museum’s new Director. This appointment occurs within the framework of the reopening of the museum and the exhibition rooms of its collection, after two years of being closed to the public.

PRODUCTION / REPRODUCTION - SANDRA GAMARRA’S INDIVIDUAL EXHIBITION AT MALI
The Museum of Art of Lima - MALI presents this exhibition of the outstanding Peruvian artist curated by the historian and art critic Luis Eduardo Wuffarden. Based on the so-called mixed race paintings commissioned by Viceroy Manuel de Amat y Junyent and sent to the King of Spain Carlos III in 1770, Sandra Gamarra commissioned their reproduction to a copyists' workshop in China. On these she added quotes from different contemporary feminist thinkers. In response to the absence of original works in Peru, this series, made up of twenty paintings, has been donated by LiMac to the MALI collection of contemporary art.

"ALL THE LIGHTHOUSES OF THE PERUVIAN COAST" AT THE LIMA ART MUSEUM
The project, by Luz María Bedoya, explores multidisciplinary relationships between navigation, sound and writing. It has a digital platform and a physical installation in MALI.

NOCTURNAL MAPS TO THINK LATIN AMERICA - COLLABORATIVE EXHIBITION BETWEEN VIGIL GONZALES AND ESPACIO EL DORADO
The exhibition, at the Vigil Gonzales gallery in Valle Sagrado, brings together the work of seven Latin American artists who question the generalizations imposed on the countries and cultures of their region, and address issues such as politics, neoliberalism, and the art market.
