BENJAMÍN AITALA'S VISUAL RHYTHMS
La Mancha Galería presented the first solo exhibition of Benjamín Aitala. Ritmos Visuales (Visual Rhythms) presents paintings produced in the last three years that provide the iconic subject matter and style of the Argentine artist.
His work imparts a sense of happiness and energy through the dynamism of the images portrayed, interposed one on top of the other, at first sight seemingly at random, but in reality with a rigid structural starting point, full of obstacles and limits that the artist breaks as his work develops.
His work is geared towards the search of a happy creation; he wants the public to see a party, to come out of the gallery in a lively mood, wanting to dance. Aitala emphasizes that the best thing about his paintings is their ability to connect with the public, given their 'simple' technique that facilitates the possibility of making incursions into them, in addition to the many identifiable images and references found in them.
Aitala's source of inspiration ranges from the smallest, most banal and everyday things to the great events of life. There are incessant discoveries of representations in his paintings, from animals, trees, stamps, swimmers (the artist is a great swimmer), Argentine boxing icons, bicycle route maps, supermarkets, names of friends, basketballs, among many others. The artist says: "In order to generate a feeling that leads me to paint I just need to sit in front of the computer and open the social page or email, read or see an image to have an inspiration, the world is full of small details that can be very big, it all depends on the way we see it".
