DIGITAL ART EXPANDS IN PERU

This event marks the conclusion of MAC Lima’s series of temporary exhibitions on art, science, and technology, which took place during the second half of 2024. These exhibitions include Videoakt. International Biennial of New Media Art, Poetry is an Invasion—a retrospective on the experimental literature work of José Aburto—and Artware. Lima Digital Art Biennial, demonstrating the museum’s commitment to promoting and disseminating the most innovative and contemporary artistic expressions.

New Horizons of Digital Art began on Tuesday, February 18, featuring three discussion panels with renowned digital artists and researchers, including Mathieu Vabre (France), founder and artistic director of Chroniques, Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques; Alain Lioret (France), artist and professor at Paris 8 University in the Department of Image Arts and Technologies; Umberto Roncoroni, organizer and curator of Artware; Angie Bonino, organizer and curator of Videoakt; and Eric Biagioli (Argentina), Director of Data Science and Computer Science at UTEC.

All discussions are free to attend, thanks to the support of the French Embassy in Peru and the academic collaboration of UTEC, whose students have previously participated in discussions and an exhibition on algorithms and digital tools for artistic creation.

The temporary exhibitions Artware 9. Lima Digital Art Biennial and Poetry is an Invasion will be open to the public until Sunday, March 2, while New Horizons of Digital Art will run until February 20.
