CELEBRATING PERUVIAN ART: MALI'S SUMMER AUCTION RETURNS
The Lima Art Museum (MALI) has announced the return of its emblematic event, thanks to the sponsorship of BBVA Global Wealth and RIMAC. The showcase will take place on February 21 at Playa del Golf, in the Asia beach resort.

The 2025 edition of the Summer Auction reaffirms its commitment to the promotion and dissemination of Peruvian art, featuring a diverse catalog that ranges from historical masters to exponents of Amazonian and Andean traditions, as well as contemporary artists. The auction includes works by renowned Peruvian artists, such as José Sabogal, a pioneer of Indigenism in Peru; Elena Izcue, known for her modern reinterpretation of pre-Columbian art; and Sandra Gamarra, one of the most influential figures in contemporary Peruvian art.
This edition also features exponents of Amazonian art, including Olinda Silvano, Roldán Pinedo, and Lastenia Canayo García, whose works reflect the cultural and traditional richness of their communities. Additionally, the auction presents pieces by historical artists such as Julia Codesido, Macedonio de la Torre, and Alejandro Gonzales Trujillo “Apu-Rimak”, among many others.

This summer edition returns, promising to be a unique experience, not only due to the quality of the exhibited artworks but also because of its mission to raise funds for the development of multiple institutional projects. It reaffirms the value of art as a bridge between past and present. The auction will conclude with a cocktail reception and party in a beautifully decorated setting.
The 14th edition of MALI’s Summer Auction will take place on the evening of Friday, February 21, 2025, at Playa del Golf, Asia beach resort (Peru).

The work that Lúa Coderch (Iquitos, Peru, 1982) has been doing around language takes over her recent solo show at Madrid's The Ryder Projects to consolidate a new relational vision of communicative practices. Exhausted and exuberant, title of this partially retrospective and almost thesis exhibition, also responds to the two apparently opposite moods, but with an inexorable link, of the vital needs that seep into contemporary society between individuals and a certain extimacy that, organically, seems to have been imposed.

The Hochschild Correa Collection boasts of being the most complete private collection of contemporary art from the Peruvian Amazon. Nevertheless, for more than a decade, it has been built on a varied and unrestricted collection, which has made it possible to bring together the different trends and techniques currently being used in the region, with a focus on dialogue and a certain relational patina among the works that make up the collection.
