REFLEXIONS ON EVERYDAY LIFE AND ENVIRONMENT IN THE WORK OF ISHMAEL RANDALL-WEEKS

The works in Tiza establish a poetic dialogue with time, Euclidean measurements, and sculptural space while interweaving references to archaeology, architecture, and basic education.

The exhibition delves into a visual analysis of layers and textures derived from the search and categorization of our urban presence, both sensory and material. Each layer becomes an abstract discovery and a delicate process of geometric exploration, evoking both an archaeological site and a series of basic geometric forms ranging from architectural to abstract textile languages.

The Peruvian artist examines the interplay between space and time, mediating temporal and geographical distances, and invites us to rethink the relationship between past and present.

Ishmael Randall-Weeks (Cusco, Peru, 1976) lives and works between New York and Peru. His work has been exhibited in major galleries and museums worldwide, including MoMA P.S.1 in New York, the Museum of Art of Lima (MALI), the Macro Museum in Rome, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
