A COMPLETE VISION TO THE CULTURAL AMAZON AT CCCB
The CCCB (Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona) dedicates a wide, meticulous and interesting exhibition that takes us into the natural and cultural heritage of the Amazon, with special emphasis on the art and thought of the cities and indigenous communities of the region. Amazonia. The Ancestral Future brings to the table a detailed vision of artistic practices and Amazonian culture through the work of an extensive list of artists who produce around their thinking and relationship with nature.

At a time when the art of the native peoples is claimed as present and fundamental in the development of part of Latin American contemporary art, this exhibition underpins the necessary vision for its recognition. From a matrix close to the inevitable relationship with ecology, the exhibition advocates the impact of nature in the Amazonian philosophies, proposing the need for conservation of the environment to ensure a dignified future for the Amazonian peoples.
In this vindication or need, an artistic production that advocates highlighting the vital importance of the ancestral and the natural to show itself in today's world becomes essential. To this end, Amazonias. The Ancestral Future gathers the proposals of several artists who have been commissioned to create new works in this environment and expression, as well as indigenous collectives that have deployed their productions for the occasion.
