WORK, FAITH AND JOY: A JOURNEY THROUGH POPULAR CULTURE
The exhibition Work, Faith and Joy at Museo Marte presents 95 works by more than 40 Salvadoran artists, and seeks to be a reflection of the country's popular culture.
Under the themes of "work", "beliefs" and "celebration", the exhibition invites visitors to explore each of the selected pieces, which highlight the visual imaginary of El Salvador's local culture. It offers a look at different cultural manifestations, valuing and sharing elements, underlining relationships, links and heritages.
The exhibition also reflects on the artistic, aesthetic, social and even economic influences of different regions of the country, recognizing that culture is constantly changing and is influenced by external elements as well as by local situations and particularities. Recognizing these particularities allows us to value the cultural contributions from which some artistic manifestations are nourished.
Work, faith and joy orbits around the semi-permanent exhibition of the museum –Trópico Telúrico– inaugurated in 2023 and open to the public until 2026. Visitors are invited to explore the rich history and diverse cultural influences that have shaped Salvadoran identity over time through local artistic production.
