ARTE LAGUNA PRIZE: CALL FOR ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS
Arte Laguna Prize is a contemporary art competition for artists of all ages, nationalities and artistic backgrounds, regardless of gender and with free subject matter. The competition offers numerous opportunities for participating artists to expand their network, gain international visibility and access valuable resources for the development of their careers. Deadline to apply: July 31, 2024.
With eighteen years of history, Arte Laguna Prize offers artists the opportunity to: exhibit in Venice (Italy) at the Arsenale Nord; win a €10,000 prize; be part of a wide international network of collaborations within the framework of the Special Awards; gain free international visibility; and sell works on Arte Laguna's online platform.
The Prize is open to the following artistic disciplines: painting, sculpture and installation, photography, video art and short films, performance and acting (theater and film), digital art, digital art and cartoon, environmental and territorial art, urban and street art, design.
The jury is composed of leading curators and museum directors: Chris Bayley (curator at Serpentine Gallery); Luca Borriello (director of the Inward National Observatory on Urban Creativity); Chiara Canali (art critic, journalist, independent curator); Claudia Segura Campins (curator of exhibitions and collections at MACBA); Hyunjin Kim (independent curator and writer); Adam Kleinman (director of Kunsthall Trondheim); Abdullah Saleh Yaseen Ali (administrator and curator of public art projects at NCCAL).
With its 4,000 square meters, the evocative spaces of the Arsenale Nord provide the ideal environment to exhibit and promote the best creations of the contemporary art scene. The finalist artists will have the unique opportunity to exhibit their works in the iconic space of the Arsenale Nord in Venice from November 16 to December 8, 2024.
Arte Laguna Prize collaborates each year with high-level international partners to offer artists a wide range of opportunities around the world. Participation in the 16 Special Prizes is free for artists currently applying to the Arte Laguna Prize 19:

THE GERMINATION OF HISTORY ACCORDING TO DELCY MORELOS, IN SEVILLE
Delcy Morelos (Tierralta, Colombia, 1967) lands at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC) in Seville with Profundis, an exhibition that gathers the spectacular intervention she has made ex profeso in the monumental areas of the Sevillian institution and that focuses on revitalizing the ancestral link of man with the earth, as well as capturing, through botany, the symbolism of the relations between Europe and America.
CAC MALAGA HOSTS MARIO AYALA'S FIRST SOLO EXHIBITION IN A MUSEUM
The CAC Malaga hosts Milagro, the first solo exhibition in a museum of Mario Ayala (Los Angeles, USA, 1991), son of a Mexican-American mother and Cuban immigrant father, whose production reflects his personal experiences and artistic concerns of the world of garages, truck drivers and mechanics of Fontana.
THE OTHERNESS OF THE BODY, ACCORDING TO NELA OCHOA, IN TEA
The Canary Islands' TEA (Tenerife Espacio de las Artes) is showing until September Y, a solo exhibition by Nela Ochoa (Caracas, Venezuela, 1953), which is part of the curatorial program Filtraciones that the center carries out for artists and with its collection.
CARLOS GARAICOA: ARCHITECTURE AND PLACE AT THE CAAM
The Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM), located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is hosting the exhibition Toda utopía pasa por la barriga, a tour through the work of Carlos Garaicoa (Havana, Cuba, 1967) curated by Lillebit Fabraga that best connects with architecture, the natural order and the location of the human being in the system.
ALFREDO CASTAÑEDA, PAINTER OF POETRY
The exhibition Alfredo Castañeda, painter of poetry at Casa de América offers a journey through the Mexican artist's work from a more poetic point of view. In this way, Castañeda's paintings are shown accompanied by his poems, where a dialogue is generated between the artist's two vocations.
