YOUNG CARIBBEAN PHOTOGRAPHY AT PHOTOESPAÑA

Included within the activities of the program Transcultura. Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity, an initiative coordinated by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO in Havana, fifteen young Caribbean photographers between the ages of 18 and 35 will participate in PHotoESPAÑA 2024 with the presentation of their recent work, in addition to being able to interact professionally with cultural agents and the sector.

YOUNG CARIBBEAN PHOTOGRAPHY AT PHOTOESPAÑA

The members of this proposal, which will take place at Casa de América in Madrid during the opening week of the photography international festival, have been selected by a panel of experts made up of Luis Prados, director of programming at Casa de América; curator Semíramis Gonzáles; photographer Rubén Bermúdez; director of artist books at Ivory Press, Valerie Maasburg; and the artistic direction of PHotoESPAÑA.

 

Among those selected are Dominican Betsaida Vanessa Montero Espaillat, and Cubans Ishan Amaro Ribalta, Joe Abreu Feijo, Jordan Issell Lopez Martinez, Leyci Cardonet Herrera, May Reguera and Moník Molinet, who join other artists from Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize and Barbados.

Young Caribbean Photography at PHotoESPAÑA 2024 will take place from May 28 to June 5, at Casa de América, Pza. de la Cibeles, s/n, Madrid, Spain.
