Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani de Palma exhibits “The Archive of Dust: An Ongoing Project”, an exhaustive overview of the fundamental lines that characterize Elena del Rivero’s (Valencia, 1949) work gravitating around the attacks of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, in New York. The work of Carola Zech, Argentinian artist of German descent, arrived, starting September 25th, at the German Embassy in Buenos Aires. A site-specific intervention, “Al azar del viento” (At the wind’s random will) is curated by Diana Weschler, also of German descent, and can be visited until November 28th as part of BIENALSUR 2021’s expositions.

How to situate the artistic dimension - and with it the reflection on the environment and the human condition - in a natural landscape that dazzles those who inhabit it?

The acclaimed Korean artist Kimsooja will inaugurate on Wednesday September 22nd the last part of her trilogy of simultaneous exhibitions through which she landed in Buenos Aires. Chapter 3: Kimsooja. An inner experience arrives at the Korean Cultural Center in the Argentine capital as a part of Bienalsur 2021, the biennial that emerged at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero and that now takes place simultaneously in more than 124 venues, 23 countries and 50 cities around the world, with the participation of about 400 artists.

By next Saturday, September 18, visitors will be able to view Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s completed artwork L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped, Paris, 1961-2021. In accordance with Christo’s wishes, the artwork is being completed by his team in partnership with the Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN) and with the support of the Centre Pompidou and the City of Paris.

The Saudi artist presents his work for the first time in Argentina in the framework of BIENALSUR 2021. Under the curatorial axis Politics of art, his solo exhibition “Silence still inhabits us” opened at the MUNTREF Sede Hotel de Inmigrantes. BIENALSUR 2021, the third edition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of the South, opens in Cuenca, Ecuador, the exhibition Juliana Vidal. The Silence of Forms in the Municipal Museum of Modern Art. Vidal (Cuenca, Ecuador, 1993) has been developing a subtle poetics of the imprint - intimately linked to time and memory - using alginate, a chemical substance sensitive to the impression of physical signals. José Luis Landet has been searching for the image of the Latin American landscape for years. And in El Atajo (The Shortcut), the exhibition that he presents in Marco, he finds some ways of approaching that idea. He builds ramps, connects vestiges, shreds colors, traces identikits, joins random images, creates an alphabet ... and ends up building a total idea of ​​our landscape, but above all of another subject that also haunts him: the painting. There is a large installation, a physical shortcut, and a set of 467 works that point to something that is clear in the subtitle: a displacement in the author.

The Museum will be the first institution in the Argentine capital to inaugurate an exhibition within BIENALSUR 2021 on August 27. In its third edition, BIENALSUR, icon of the resistance and resilience of art in times of pandemic, travels to La Térmica as the first venue in Spain in 2021. The Brazilian sculptor explores the materiality of the human body and what it means to be human through her work in the group exhibition Her Kind. Curated by Guilherme Blanc, Wall is the result of an invitation made to the Argentinian-Israeli artist Inés Moldavsky to revisit and expand, in an installation context, her film The Men Behind the Wall, Golden Bear winner at the Berlinale in 2018. With these questions, the Argentine artist Marina De Caro introduces us to her exhibition Tierra de las emociones perdidas (Land of Lost Emotions), at the Ruth Benzacar gallery in the city of Buenos Aires, which brings together her most recent production.
