A DOS VOCES: VISUAL NARRATIVES BETWEEN CHARACTERS AND SPACES
Galería del Paseo presents the dual exhibition A Dos Voces (In To Voices), featuring works by Argentine artist Liliana Porter and Uruguayan artist Ana Tiscornia. The show includes a selection of collaborative pieces and two significant individual works created during 2023/24.

A Dos Voces explores the diverse languages and formats of collage. While each artist’s production remains personal and autonomous, their collaborative works reveal a dynamic that brings formal and narrative connections into action.
Porter focuses on characters, while Tiscornia centers on spaces. Together, they unfold a unique narrative: their joint works are grounded in Tiscornia’s unstable stage designs, which serve as vital spaces for Porter’s characters to develop their distinctive fictions.

By skillfully manipulating scale within conventional planes, Porter and Tiscornia capture the viewer's imagination with a body of work rooted in anecdotal and ingenious realism. With a playful delicacy, they establish a distinctive aesthetic dialogue. Susan Sontag’s essay Against Interpretation—a counter to the overwhelming critical lens of our time—offers an intimate approach to the artists’ work with joyful ease. This exhibition aligns us with timeless narratives, echoing the ineffable tales of the Brothers Grimm, while renewing the ever-essential reservoir of imagination.

The Gerhardt Braun gallery is showing the second solo exhibition of Martín Mas (Uruguay, 1974) at its Palma de Mallorca headquarters. The Matter Matters presents a new return of the artist with Balearic roots to wood, his main working medium. Although this comeback is not new but recurrent over the last few years, on each occasion a profound productive relationship is confirmed that leads to the creation of works of apparent simplicity, although with a complex base, in which geometric forms, clear lines and organic substrates predominate.
