PAC'S OPEN CALLS 2025: ARTISTIC AND CURATORIAL TRAINING PROGRAMS
PAC, the educational platform of the Gachi Prieto Gallery in Buenos Aires, opens the inscriptions for three programs that seek to professionalize contemporary artists and curators; through a collaborative and reflexive learning approach, the aim is to promote the construction of affective and professional networks.
The programs focus on two main objectives: first, to offer diverse perspectives and develop analytical skills for participants' own works and projects; second, to provide an interdisciplinary approach through various artistic languages and disciplines, complemented by management tools to understand the context and circulation within the contemporary art system.
Annual Artists Program (On-site modality)
The Annual Artists Program is open to artists of all ages and disciplines who wish to strengthen their practice through work critiques, seminars, and theoretical-practical workshops. The program is in-person, with weekly meetings on Fridays from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Gachi Prieto Latin American Contemporary Art Gallery (Palermo, Buenos Aires). The program runs from March to December 2025.
This program offers a group space for critical analysis and discussion of works. Participants will attend seminars led by prominent art professionals and enjoy exclusive lectures, masterclasses, and activities. Artists from both the in-person and online annual programs will take part in the final group exhibitions (to be held between December and February), curated by participants of the Intensive Curatorial Program in the exhibition spaces of Gachi Prieto Gallery.
The teaching team mis formed by: Tomás Espina, Juan Manuel Wolcoff, Lorena Fernández, Rafael Cippolini, Guillermina and Jorgelina Mongan, among others. There will be 21 participants chosen by a jury made up of the teaching staff and coordinators. Applicants must complete the corresponding registration form.
Application deadline: January 20, 2025.
Annual Artists Program (Online)
Designed for artists who do not live in Buenos Aires or reside outside of Argentina, this program promotes critical analysis of participants’ works and explores their contexts and circulation possibilities within the contemporary art field. PAC establishes partnerships with institutions to sustain the Virtual Artists Program, ensuring financial considerations do not hinder participation for artists from various regions in the country and beyond.
The teaching team is composed by: Tomás Espina, Lorena Fernández, Andrés Waissman, Marcolina Dipierro, and others. A jury will select only 18 participants. Applicants must complete the registration form and submit the required documentation in PDF format.
Application deadline: January 20, 2025.
Intensive Curatorial Program (In-person)
The Intensive Curatorial Program is designed for cultural managers, curators, art historians, and graduates of related fields seeking to professionalize their curatorial practice. This in-person program features weekly meetings on Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Gachi Prieto Gallery. It runs from April to November 2025.
Offering comprehensive training that combines theoretical seminars with practical exercises, the program equips participants with skills in exhibition design and development. It includes visits to exhibitions, workshops, and private collections, complemented by project management tools, critical text writing, and project conceptualization. The program concludes with the curation of the final exhibitions of the Annual Artists Programs, providing participants with both educational and professional experiences.
The teaching team is formed by: Silvina Amighini, Mariana Rodríguez Iglesias, Rodrigo Alonso, Nancy Rojas, and others. The jury will select 12 participants. Applicants must complete the corresponding registration form.
Application deadline: February 28, 2025.
PAC offers partial scholarships and economic support to ensure participation. Additionally, the platform facilitates endorsements for external grants.
