PURE VIBRATIONS. SOTO’S 100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
Vibración Pura (Pure Vibration) is Jesús Rafael Soto’s solo exhibition at Ascaso Gallery.

Jesús Rafael Soto is one of the most important and influential figures in kinetic art. During his transformative trajectory, he experimented with form, space and matter. His experimental avant-garde was guided by a particular conception of abstraction, whose purpose was to bring the work of art closer to the viewer.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jesús Rafael Soto, whose importance in the constitution of the avant-garde during the 20th century is central and decisive.
In commemoration of the centenary of his birth, and in collaboration with the Atelier Soto in Paris and fundación Soto in Caracas, Ascaso Gallery organized this exhibition. It brings together a selection of works from 1951-2004 which cover several periods on the development of the artist’s plastic research.
