ESTE ARTE, the fair that takes place in Punta del Este, Uruguay, has shared the line-up of international galleries participating in its the 4th edition. This year a completely redesigned layout, with expanded exhibition spaces, greater booths, enjoyable aisles and yummy dining areas. And for the Château Card holders access to the fabulous Fendi-Château lounge. 

On Saturday, December 2, the last Gallery Days of the year arrives. The circuit that will close the 2017 cycle includes the neighborhoods of Palermo and Villa Crespo and will have the participation of 32 galleries, workshops and art spaces will open their doors from 3pm to 7pm so you can visit them and live a different afternoon.

The exhibition-curated by the artistic director of the Museum, Mariana Marchesi-gathers 19 sculptures and three drawings by Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) belonging to the Fine Arts collection, in room 10 on the ground floor.

Curator Dan Cameron brings to the international art calendar a new biennial called Open Spaces: Kansas City Art Experiences. From August 25th to October 28th 2018, the first edition of the contemporary and scenic arts event will feature new works by Nari Ward, Nick Cave and other great names.

Exhibition Features over 100 Artworks by Matta-Clark and Rarely Seen Archival Materials On view November 8, 2017 – April 8, 2018

For my nineteenth posting of the Getty-led initiative exploring Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles, we will look at the Skirball Cultural Center’s exhibition ANOTHER PROMISED LAND: ANITA BRENNER’S MEXICO on view from September 14, 2017 through February 25, 2018. The exhibition celebrates a Mexican-American Jewish cultural trailblazer featuring works by luminaries of the Mexican Renaissance including Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, and Frida Kahlo. The Skirball Museum Director, Robert Kirschner, points out that the museum’s participation in PST: LA/LA fully aligns with its mission to bridge people of diverse heritage and history while learning about its neighbors and consider how it represent cultures that are not their own.  The show is curated by Sharon Lerner (MALI) and Gabriela Rangel (Americas Society of New York) and will be open to the public from November 17, 2017 to March 4, 2018 in temporary rooms 1, 2 and 3 of MALI.

The 12th edition of the Shanghai Biennale will take place at the Power Station of Art (PSA) from November 10, 2018 to March 10, 2019.

Mexican gallery OMR presents in the Gallery Weekend the exhibition Compression Loss of Troika, a collaborative contemporary art practice formed in 2003 by Eva Rucki (b. 1976, Germany), Conny Freyer (b. 1976, Germany) and Sebastien Noel (b. 1977, France).

Fernando de Szyszlo (Peru, 1925–2017) has crossed over the threshold of mystery that his paintings so often suggested. Perhaps more than any other master of Latin American modern art, his work brought together the lessons of a lyrical abstraction that never eschewed earthly forms, on the one hand, and the heritage of pre-Hispanic architecture and of its mythical universe, on the other.

Y Gallery presents Raquel Rabinovich’s Thresholds, her second solo show at the gallery.. The exhibition will consist of new paintings and drawings created between 2014 and 2017. This event anticipates her forthcoming retrospective at El Museo del Barrio, that will open in 2019, the year Rabinovich turns 90.

Partidas Simultaneas presents the latest works by Estefanía Landesmann. Curated by Jorge Macchi, the exhibition poses a reflection on the photographic language, questioning conventions of the medium such as the eloquence of the image, its bidimensionality, its ability to record objectively or even the debt it carries with painting.

Graciela Sacco, one of the contemporary Argentine artists who most reflected on political and social violence, died Sunday at age 61 after a long fight against cancer.

Cristin Tierney Gallery is pleased to present Sign of Abandonment, an exhibition of new paintings by Jorge Tacla. Chile’s International Contemporary Art Fair shall take place from October 11th through the 15th at the CV Galería building, located at a strategic point in eastern Santiago: the triangle between Alonso de Córdova, Américo Vespucio and Avenida Kennedy. The fair shall consist of 4 sections: “Main”, “Focus”, “Planta” and “Nave de Ediciones”. In all, over 50 national and international galleries and art spaces shall take part in the Fair.
