LATIN AMERICAN CURATORIAL PRACTICE AT PINTA Sud | ASU 2024
In the next edition of Pinta Sud | ASU 2024 -to be held from August 5 to 11, 2024 in Asuncion, Paraguay- the FORO lecture series will be one of the key spaces to delve into Latin American curatorial practice. Curated by Adriana Almada and Irene Gelfman, FORO will feature international guests such as Inés Katzenstein, Isabella Lenzi, Raphael Fonseca, among others.
The Pinta Sud | ASU 2024 colloquium seeks to present a sort of "state of the art" of curatorial practice in Latin America (or linked to the region) through a conversation with relevant curators from the international art scene, who will present different aspects of their work, both in institutions and in specific projects. FORO Space will be held at the Casa de la Integración of CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean.
FORO will feature the participation of major international references: Inés Katzenstein (curator of Latin American Art at MoMA, New York and Director of the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Research Institute), Isabella Lenzi (artistic director and Chief Curator at the Alberto Cruz Foundation, Santo Domingo | Madrid), Raphael Fonseca (curator of modern and contemporary Latin American art at the Denver Art Museum and Chief Curator of the 14th Mercosur Biennial, Porto Alegre), Bianca Bernardo (Curator, Artist Liaison and Communication Manager at A Gentil Carioca Gallery, Rio de Janeiro), Cuauhtémoc Medina (Chief Curator at MUAC - Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City), Ticio Escobar (art critic, curator, cultural promoter.
