THE TERRITORIAL BY THREE LATIN AMERICAN ARTISTS AT ÁNGELES BAÑOS
Based on the biologicist theories on territoriality and the relationships derived from living beings with their immediate environment, the Angeles Baños gallery from Badajoz proposes an exhibition project to three Latin American artists so that, through their experiences and their personal vision, they can materialize and express those feelings of territoriality, and always from the parallelism of the human being with the rest of living beings.
ALEXANDRE ARRECHEA’S “BARE TOOL” AT LOCUST PROJECTS
Locust Projects presents Bare Tool (Herramienta desnuda), a new exhibition by artist Alexandre Arrechea that explores the action of a stone skipping across water as a metaphor for “social sculpture” and the resulting ripple effect, which the artist envisions in three acts: “The Tool,” “The Action,” and “The Implications,” unfolding as a large scale, immersive multimedia experience that invites reflection on the power of individual acts.
THE LATEST TOUR AT DA2 OF THE LUCIANO MÉNDEZ SÁNCHEZ CONTEMPORARY CUBAN ART COLLECTION
The DA2 hosts the last stage of the itinerancy of the Luciano Méndez Sánchez Contemporary Cuban Art Collection, a cycle of exhibitions that the collection started in 2019 in Spain in this institution and that reflects, through different curatorial lines, the realities and attitudes around contemporary art in Cuba.

The Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM), located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is hosting the exhibition Toda utopía pasa por la barriga, a tour through the work of Carlos Garaicoa (Havana, Cuba, 1967) curated by Lillebit Fabraga that best connects with architecture, the natural order and the location of the human being in the system.

GLADYS TRIANA'S TWO SIMULTANEOUS EXHIBITIONS
The Fairfield University Art Museum and the Art Museum at the University of Saint Joseph announce the closing of the monographic exhibition Gladys Triana: A Path to Enlightenment, 1971-2021, which displays the work of Gladys Triana (b. Cuba, 1937) at these two venues simultaneously. This exhibition, which opened on September 23, 2022, marked the first collaboration between both exhibitions to provide a two-venue survey of an artist’s work.
PAMM EXHIBITS “MARIANO: VARIATIONS ON A THEME”
Mariano: Variations on a Theme is the first major retrospective exhibition of the work of Cuban artist Mariano Rodríguez (b. 1912, Havana; d. 1990, Havana) in the United States. Exhibited first at the McMullen Museum of Art in Boston, the exhibition is organized with the collaboration of the Fundación Mariano Rodríguez.
UNCOVERED BOOKS AS PAINTING/SCULPTURES BY REFAEL DOMENECH
[NAME] Publications inaugurated their new space in West Miami with the exhibition Rafael Domenech: An Oracle on a Tomato, Ubiquitous Rectangles. The exhibition includes a series of newly-commissioned objects that activate the hidden potentials in the traditional book form by unfolding it as multi-media painting-like structures.
LOWE ART MUSEUM EXHIBITS ‘RADICAL CONVENTIONS: CUBAN AMERICAN ART FROM THE 1980’S’
Radical Conventions is presented in collaboration with the Cuban Heritage Collection of the University of Miami Libraries. Curated by Elizabeth Cerejido, PhD., the exhibition will be on view until June 12th.
CUBAN LEGACY GALLERY PRESENTS BARUJ SALINAS: 1972–2022
Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Cuban Legacy Gallery, in collaboration with the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, presents Baruj Salinas: 1972–2022, a thematic survey of the acclaimed Miami-based Cuban American painter’s abstract work. Curated by Adriana Herrera, the show spans a half century of Salinas’ artistic career and features 40 works and includes paintings, works on paper, glazed ceramics, and an artist’s book. The works are borrowed from Miami collections, including that of the Cintas Foundation. The exhibition will be on view until August 14, 2022.

WILLIAM OSORIO IN EL ESPACIO 23
LnS GALLERY announces the inclusion of The Face of Leviathan (2021) by William Osorio into the permanent collection of El Espacio 23. This work, which is inspired by the protests that erupted in Cuba throughout the summer while compositionally quoting Picasso's Guernica (1937), was acquired by the private collection and is set to debut early this year.
ROGELIO LÓPEZ MARÍN (GORY): AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF PHOTOGRAPHY, MUSIC, AND DESIGN AT LnS
This exhibition features thirteen photographs by Gory from the Moonlight Serenade series (2012-2018). The essay by the curator Julia P. Herzberg discusses the varied contexts of the photographs, which are exhibited and discussed here for the first time.
DAGOBERTO RODRÍGUEZ WINNER OF THE EFG LATIN AMERICAN ART AWARD
The Cuban artist was selected for the EFG International acquisition award for his work El Fin (The End) exhibited at PArC with the Piero Atchugarry Gallery. The announcement was made in Pinta Miami together with Diego Costa Peuser, Director of Pinta, Victor Echevarria of EFG Capital and Celia Birbragher, Director and Editor of ArtNexus.
NSU ART MUSEUM FORT LAUDERDALE EXHIBITS WORKS BY MARGARITA CANO
Celebrating the occasion of her 90th birthday, the exhibition will be on display until February 13, 2022. The aim is to celebrate the life and work of Cuban-born, Miami-based artist Margarita Cano.
BIENALSUR: AT THE REINA SOFIA, CUBAN ARTIST BELKIS AYON HAS HER FIRST RETROSPECTIVE IN EUROPE
Colografias, the first European retrospective in honor of the Cuban engraver Belkis Ayón (Havana, 1967-1999) was inaugurated on November 16th at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, in Madrid. The exhibition, which brings together around 80 works produced between 1986 and 1999, constitutes Km 10048 of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of the South (BIENALSUR), since it is a part, as an associated exhibition, of the biennial held in 124 venues around the world.
JORGE PARDO’S EXHIBITION AT THE MUSEUM OF ART AND DESIGN, MIAMI
Titled Mongrel, this site-specific installation transforms MOAD’s largest gallery into a dynamic interior that evokes domestic space and the artist’s early experiences as a Cuban refugee. A series of twenty-five new drawings created expressly for this exhibition meld a wide variety of images into arresting abstractions of pulsing color and form, while still occasionally revealing their representational sources.
LYDIA RUBIO: THE ARTIST IN ARCADIA
Lydia Rubio was born in Havana, Cuba, with art in her bones. She comes from three generations of women painters, to be precise. "My grandmother painted every day, whenever she could," Lydia recalls. "She worked at an office but painted in the living room. The whole family lived together, so I used to see her painting there and was trained visually. My cousin, everybody was drawing and painting, but I was the only one that took it to another level of development and commitment."

ARTURO CUENCA MEMORIAL AT THE AMERICAN MUSEUM OF THE CUBAN DIASPORA
The memorial of the Cuban artist Arturo Cuenca Sigarreta (1955-2021), held on the same September 21 as his birth, in the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, was a symbolic event, surely the first of many that, after his early death, will finally allow the artistic institutions to recognize the visionary character in the work of this unruly and complex creator, who, like few others, embodied a way of criticizing power, both institutional and political, that did not compromise with convenience.
