“ART IS THEATER": THE MODERN MUSEUM UNVEILS ITS 2025 PROGRAM
The annual program, presented by Victoria Noorthoorn, director of the Modern Museum, consists of ten exhibitions dedicated to showcasing the powerful dialogue between visual arts and theater in Argentina, from the 1960s to the present.

Each month, the Modern Museum will bring to the stage the creations of both historical and contemporary Argentine artists who have embraced experimentation and radicality in their search for transformative forms of artistic expression, responding to the challenges of each historical moment and the present day.
The exhibitions will highlight artists who, through groundbreaking and experimental proposals, reshaped the cultural scene in the 1960s, 1980s, and 1990s. In addition, monographic exhibitions will be presented, featuring creators from different generations and disciplines whose work crosses the boundaries between visual arts, performance, music, theater, and public space interventions. Their works challenge traditional artistic categories in every era, fostering new forms of expression.

Noorthoorn explained that Art is Theater will bring to the stage artists who "emphasize the importance of a sensitive and diverse humanity at a time when the very notion of humanity is being questioned. They affirm the urgency of a sincere, vital, and disruptive art that allows us to imagine alternatives for the future of our country and all of humanity."
The program will feature Nacha Guevara, Dalila Puzzovio, Griselda Gambaro, Víctor García, Batato Barea, Renata Schussheim, La Organización Negra, Alejandro Urdapilleta, Jorge Miño, Valentina Quintero, Bárbara Bianca LaVogue, among many others.

Gabriela Ricardes, Minister of Culture of the City, praised the initiative: "What the Modern Museum is presenting today is an invitation to new audiences and those interested in understanding the transformative power of art and culture, which is our mission. These remarkable artists, who will pass through the museum's halls this year, have been bold, they have created, they have questioned, and they have changed the way we see ourselves and others."
Various educational and social programs will accompany the initiative, along with the ongoing residencies at Casa Alberto Heredia, Public Programs, keynote lectures, and the Modern Museum’s series of festivals and events. Additionally, eight new books from the museum's publishing program will be released.
