PINTA PArC 2024 REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO DISSEMINATE THE REGION'S ARTISTIC IDENTITIES
Pinta PArC returns with a new edition: from April 24 to 28 at Casa Prado Miraflores, the fair will present an experimental and ambitious program, along with a careful selection of galleries.
The official contemporary art fair in Peru, Pinta PArC, is the most attractive international cultural event in the region and a chance to discover and disseminate the essence of Peru, which intertwines its historical richness with the most current influences of contemporary art.
As the past four years, the main venue for Pinta PArC 2024 will be the emblematic Casa Prado, a building that celebrates Peruvian tradition, preserving architectural, furniture and artistic elements.
A new addition to Pinta PArC 2024 is the RADAR section, curated by Florencia Battiti, which invites artists to dialogue on a current issue in contemporary art; and the section Artist Homage. In this edition, the focus will be on galleries, artists, collectors, curators, museums and institutions and will constitute a unique experience for its visitors.
"This new edition of Pinta PArC has as its main theme the ancestral practices of the Latin American region. We propose a varied program carefully designed and supported by a group of prestigious professionals who enrich the sections by contributing diverse curatorial perspectives," explains Irene Gelfman, Pinta's Global Curator.
The fair will host proposals from more than 40 galleries from 19 cities around the world and will feature the sections: Main Section; NEXT, with six galleries that bet on emerging artists, with the curatorship of Florencia Portocarrero; and special projects such as Sculpture Garden, Site-Specific at Casa Prado and Video-Project.
In parallel, Foro, a program of panel discussions in the Auditorium organized by Giuliana Vidarte, will be held. It will address current debates for Latin America's creative ecosystems. From the visual arts, curatorship, art collecting and art history research, meetings will be offered to discuss current issues and problems in contemporary contexts.
Pinta PArC is part of Pinta, the largest platform for the promotion of Latin American art worldwide through three international fairs, the Arte al Día magazine and initiatives such as Pinta Sud, among other events and special programs.
