PINTA Sud | ASU CLOSED ITS THIRD EDITION AT JULIA ISÍDREZ'S WORKSHOP IN ITÁ

Julia Isídrez, one of the most outstanding sculptors in South America, is emerging on the international scene as a unique figure for her ability to resignify an ancient sculptural tradition that has been passed down through generations, beginning with her mother, the renowned ceramist Juana Marta Rodas (1925-2013).

Drawing on a rich indigenous Guaraní heritage, in which mothers have taught ceramic techniques to their daughters for centuries, Isídrez explores and reinterprets this ancestral knowledge, establishing new forms of artistic expression in the field of contemporary sculpture.

To end this third and last edition of Pinta Sud | ASU, on its last day of programming, Julia Isidrez offered a ceramics workshop at the Juan Marta Rodas Ceramics Workshop School in Itá, resulting in an unparalleled experience for its visitors. This initiative was presented by Fundación Itaú, Associate Partner of Pinta Sud | ASU.

The third and last edition of Pinta Sud ASU was consolidated as a vibrant meeting point for curators, artists and collectors. This event was a space for creative exchange and reflection on the curatorial practice: a fundamental platform to highlight and connect Paraguay's emerging talent with the rest of the Latin American and international art circuit.

Pinta Sud ASU demonstrated, once again, its deep commitment to the promotion of Paraguayan art, revealing a local scene rich in innovative and high-quality proposals and creating an environment conducive to dialogue and collaboration.

In addition, Pinta reaffirmed its support for local art spaces and artists, underscoring their importance in the country's cultural development. The diversity and quality of the proposals presented in this edition not only showcased Paraguay's artistic potential, but also attracted the attention of a global audience interested in discovering and appreciating what this country has to offer.
