PINTA MIAMI 2024 – THE LATIN AMERICAN GENE
Pinta Miami –the international art fair focused on modern and contemporary Iberian and Latin American art– celebrates its eighteenth edition from December 5-8, 2024. Through curated sections and a dynamic and contemporary interdisciplinary program, the fair reinforces its commitment to showcasing a plurality of art.
PINTA BAphoto - THE EXPRESSION OF A REGION'S PHOTOGRAPHY
Pinta BAphoto closed its 20th anniversary at La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina, after a weekend that brought together the best of photography in the region and was a meeting point for gallery owners, artists, curators, collectors and photography lovers. The fair attracted more than 14,000 visitors during its three days open to the public.
A TALE OF TWO CITIES: LONDON VS. PARIS, THE ART WORLD’S ONGOING RIVALRY
Mid-October marks a pivotal moment in the art world, as the spotlight shifts between London and Paris. First up is London, with Frieze opening on October 9th accompanied by a flurry of gallery openings and art events across the city. This season also sees important auctions, with leading houses hosting sales of Modern and Contemporary art.
ANTONIO PICHILLÁ QUIACAÍN: THE ARTIST NOMINATED FOR EFG LATIN AMERICA ART AWARD AT ArtBo
Antonio Pichillá Quiacaín was announced as ArtBo's nominated artist for the EFG Latin America Art Award, the company's annual acquisition award. The winning artist will be featured at Pinta Miami 2024.
NEXT | OUT OF FOCUS – TEN YEARS OF EMERGENT PHOTOGRAPHY
As part of the 20th anniversary of BAphoto, the art fair dedicated exclusively to photography in Buenos Aires, the NEXT | Out of Focus section celebrates its tenth edition in 2024. Since its creation, this section has been a key space to promote the visibility of emerging galleries and artists, functioning as a platform that connects Argentine photography with the international scene. Throughout these ten years, NEXT | Out of Focus has played a fundamental role in positioning emerging galleries and generating links with larger art circuits, contributing to BAphoto and Pinta's goal of promoting Latin American art in the world.

The first half of the year concluded on a low note, and as the art market gets ready to gear up for the last semester, a clearer picture of the challenges faced is emerging.
THE ARMORY SHOW’S 30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION
The Armory Show is taking place from September 6th to 8th. The fair’s 30th edition features over 235 galleries from 35 countries, showcasing artist projects in the Platform section, as well as highlights from sections Galleries, Focus, Solo and Presents, alongside presentation details for the Gramercy International Prize. Now part of the Frieze network, the Armory Show presents a revitalized program that offers a comprehensive view of the contemporary art world.
LEILA TSCHOPP: ARTEBA'S NOMINEE FOR THE EFG LATIN AMERICA ART AWARD
The EFG Latin America Art Award, in partnership with ArtNexus, announced Leila Tschopp of Buenos Aires, Argentina, as arteba's nominated artist for its annual acquisition award. The winning artist will be featured at Pinta Miami 2024.
ARTEBA 2024: THE PULSE OF THE ART MARKET IN ARGENTINA
On Wednesday, August 28, the 33rd edition of arteba, the first art fair founded in Latin America and the most significant in Argentina, began. This year's event features over 400 artists represented by 65 galleries from 16 cities.
ARTEBA IN ITS 2024 EDITION – THE ARGENTINE ART ECOSYSTEM
The arteba 2024 fair opens its doors to the general public from Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1 at the Centro Costa Salguero, Buenos Aires, Argentina. With the goal of serving as a meeting platform, the fair will bring together all those who make up the art ecosystem in Argentina: artists, gallery owners, curators, collectors, professionals and the interested public.
THE METROPOLITAN AREA OF BARCELONA HOSTS MANIFESTA 15
Manifesta, the European nomadic biennial, as it is defined, returns to Spain after past editions in San Sebastian (2004) and Murcia (2010) and will hold its 15th edition in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona from September 8 to November 24. The multidisciplinary program of actions and exhibitions will be developed around the concept of place and time, focusing, through the exhibition venues chosen in the twelve participating municipalities, on the past, present and future of this region.
ART BASEL IN BASEL 2024: A FAIR FOR EVERY BUDGET?
The Art Basel in Basel fair concluded on June 16th, signaling the near end of the market season before summer. Despite the June London auctions (featuring works from antiquity to contemporary art) this year’s London season is notably diminished.
FRIEZE NEW YORK 2024 – A VIEW FROM THE FLOOR
With the opening of Frieze NY last Wednesday, the NY Contemporary sales season has kicked off (if it ever truly stops!). From now until mid-May, it's a whirlwind of fairs and gallery openings, culminating in the grand auctions. May is a crucial time for the US art market calendar and the results will have global repercussion for the remainder of the year.
FRIEZE NEW YORK 2024: CELEBRATING ART AND THE CITY
Frieze New York 2024 returns to The Shed in New York with a new curator for Focus, more than 60 galleries from 25 countries and an extensive program of events and activations. This year’s edition will be held from May 1-5.
ARGENTINE GALLERIES AWARDED AT ARCOmadrid
ARCOmadrid is being held until Sunday, March 10, and presented its Lexus Award for Best Stand to the Argentinean gallery W-Gallery. In addition, the galleries Remota and Piedras won the X Opening Award, which recognizes the best stand in that section.

LUCIANA LAMOTHE WILL REPRESENT ARGENTINA IN THE NEXT VENICE BIENNIAL
Visual artist Luciana Lamothe, who works in different disciplines, was appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to represent the country at the 2024 artistic event.

JOAQUÍN SÁNCHEZ AT PINTA UNIVERSE: A SEARCH FOR DIALOGUE AND REFLECTION
Joaquín Sánchez is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been nurtured by the knowledge and skills of indigenous and popular communities in Bolivia and Paraguay, with whom he has been developing collaborative processes for more than two decades. His proposals, although they cover a wide spectrum of languages and discourses, recognize precise axes linked to the history and ancestral culture of the peoples that have long inhabited the territory that both countries disputed almost a century ago, as well as to his own history, in a sort of personal ethnography made of fragments of memory.
PINTA BAphoto 2023: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY
A new edition of Pinta BAphoto will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from September 28 to October 1. With a return to La Rural as its main location, the 19th edition will feature the participation of projects that focus on historical photography.
